Doug Brendel Co-founder, Senior Copywriter, Copy Chief

Doug has spent his entire adult life writing fundraising copy for ministries. In addition to writing for numerous BBS & Associates client-ministries, he oversees all the agency’s copywriting and reviews all the graphics produced by BBS.

He’s also been heavily involved in ministry personally — 15 years as a clergyman, and for the past 15 years leading NewThing.net, providing humanitarian aid to the needy in the former Soviet Union. He has authored and co-authored numerous books, including the acclaimed Seven Deadly Diseases of Ministry Marketing: Confessions of a Christian Fundraiser.

Committed to the compassionate expression of Christ’s love, Doug served for four years with the Prodigal’s Home “street church” in Phoenix and was a founding board member of Family Promise North Shore Boston, an interfaith group serving newly homeless families.

Doug holds a degree in Social Sciences from Evangel University. He and his wife, Kristina, live in Ipswich, Massachusetts. They have three children.
