While you wait …

“So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.” 2 Corinthians 4:16-18

Are you waiting on the Lord for something today? If so, be encouraged!

Maybe you are praying diligently for physical healing. Or a spiritual breakthrough. You might be waiting for a beloved prodigal son, daughter, or grandchild to return home … or a broken marriage to be repaired. You might have prayed for years for the salvation of a loved one — to no avail. You might even be waiting for God’s plan for your future to be revealed. Whatever the case may be …

 Waiting is difficult.

 It can even be painful.

But take heart! God is working while you wait. He’s developing your character and your reliance on Him. And if you will wait on Him … His promises for you are good.

Waiting may be challenging, but it is not without reward! The promise found in Isaiah 40:31 is for you:

“But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.”

 What an incredible strength!

 So, while you wait …

Keep praying.

Keep trusting.

Lean on Jesus.

Meditate on His Truth.

Seek encouragement from godly friends and family.

Don’t take one step forward until you know He’s directing you to do it!

Gather strength from the Ultimate Power Source.

Wait on the Lord!

My prayer this week—Father, waiting can be hard! But I know you can use this time of waiting to develop deeper character in me, draw me closer to you, and renew my strength. I will wait on you. Help me trust you and seek you daily. And when my time of waiting is through, help me move forward in faith. Your promises are good!
